Ex-IGN staffer Colin Moriarty who now runs Last Stand Media and hosts the Sacred Symbols PlayStation podcast has said that third-party publishers have been briefed on the PS5 Pro specs.
Speaking on his latest Sacred SYmbols podcast, Moriarty says that third-party publishers have been given a presentation on the Pro. He also said that first and second-party developers have already had access to the specs of the rumoured console revision.
I was told explicitly by someone who works at a mid-sized third-party publisher that they were given a presentation for PS5 Pro. I understand that first parties and second parties have already had access to, if not the [development] kits then the spec of what they are aiming for.
Just last week a video games analyst told CNBC that it was likely that PS5 Pro would be launching this year. “There seems to be a broad consensus in the game industry that Sony is indeed preparing a launch of a PS5 Pro in the second half of 2024.” Tokyo-based consultant Serkan Toto said.
