Insomniac’s next Marvel game Marvel’s Wolverine will launch in 2024 and Bend Studio’s yet unannounced PS5 game will launch in 2024. That’s according to a concept artist who states they are working on both games.
As first spotted by Zuby_Tech on X(formerly Twitter), Hung Nguy is a concept artist based out of Vietnam. Their Artstation profile lists both Marvel’s Wolverine and Ben Studio’s unannounced game as titles they’re working on.
As you can see from the screenshot above, the concept artist states that Marvel’s WOlverine will be released in 2024 and Bend Studio’s PS5 game will be released in 2025. Of course, these dates could just be guesses by the concept artist, placeholder dates or they could be accurate.
Zuby_Tech and some other X users do seem to think that the concept artist is “legit” and, therefore a credible and accurate source.
Upon further investigation by PlayStation Fanatic, we found that the company the concept artist apparently works for has indeed worked on several big AAA games in the past. Volta is a Canadian visual development studio that works on things like concept art, 2D & 3D production and visual development for some of the world’s biggest entertainment companies.
Volta’s list of clients includes Activision, Ubisoft, and of course Sony. Colta has also worked on some big games like For Honor, Outriders and Forspoken. So it stands to reason that the concept artist could have some inside information, possibly.
Wolverine is already in development
We already know that Marvel’s Wolverine is currently in development at Insomniac Games and could be ready to ship within the next year. Last year it was reported that motion capture work had started on the game. And earlier this year they recruited seasoned game writer Walt Willimas to take the narrative lead on the game.
marvel’s Wolverine was first announced at Sony’s 2021 PlayStation Showcase.
As for Bend Studio’s new PS5 game. All we pretty much no about that is it won’t be a Days Gone sequel, much to the dismay of fans. Apart from that, Bend did offer up just a wee bit of info on a PlayStation Blog post in June 2022. The studio said that their new game is a brand-new IP and a new world, it will have multiplayer and will build upon the open-world systems of Days Gone.
